We are excited to announce the Australian School Library Day theme for 2025....... All The Literacies.

The purpose of Australian School Library Day is to celebrate and highlight the incredible range of things that school library staff do – educational impact that might be hidden from view but so essential to the far-reaching web of positive outcomes that school libraries provide.  By raising awareness of the benefits of a well-resourced and suitably staffed school library we hope to ensure that future generations enjoy them as well.

There are lots of ways to celebrate Australian School Library Day. You'll find lots of ideas for how to celebrate this special day on the ASLD webpage. You'll also find and be able to download the resources, posters, social media tiles and more.

We are excited to announce the Australian School Library Day theme for 2024....... School Libraries Build Brighter Futures.

The Students Need School Libraries campaign have partnered with the Australian Library and Information Association to create the theme and bring you a range of beautiful graphics and digital resources to celebrate school libraries.

There are lots of ways to celebrate Australian School Library Day. You'll find lots of ideas for how to celebrate this special day on the ASLD webpage. You'll also find and be able to download the resources, posters, social media tiles and more.

Australian School Library Day sits in the middle of the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book Week. It is the perfect opportunity to highlight incredible Australian children's literature and the amazing things Australian school libraries do.

Australian School Library Day is the perfect way to celebrate all things Australian literature and libraries.

It is easy to get involved. Check out these ideas on how to celebrate Australian School Library Day. Incorporate the ideas with your Book Week celebrations, especially the Reading is Magic theme of 2024. You can find more information on the CBCA Book Week, theme and resources on the CBCA website.

Announcing Australian School Library Day

We are super excited to announce Australian School Library Day. Celebrating on the 24th of August, 2022, Australian School Library Day sits in the middle of the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book Week. It is the perfect opportunity to highlight incredible Australian children's literature and the amazing things Australian school libraries do.

A massive thanks to the Children's Book Council of Australia for welcoming this new day of celebration into Book Week. We hope the combination of Book Week and Australian School Library Day is the perfect way to celebrate all things Australian literature and libraries.

It is easy to get involved. Check out these ideas on how to celebrate Australian School Library Day. Incorporate the ideas with your Book Week celebrations, especially the Dreaming With Eyes Open theme of 2022.
